Your child’s safety is of utmost importance to us! Because of this, our adult to child ratio is extremely low- 3 children for every 1 adult. Our bunks consist of 4 leaders and 12 campers, with additional support staff for our group. Each adult on campus, regardless of their role, has secured a background check and has close contact with someone on our pastoral team. Campers will be placed in rooms based on their age and gender. Our team will have medical staff on site to administer medications or make emergency decisions if needed. Awanita Valley provides lifeguards for all of the lake activities.

From Dinner on Monday to breakfast on Thursday, each meal will be provided by Awanita! We will also offer several snack options throughout the week. If your child chooses to bring any snacks, please ensure they are nut free! If your child has any allergies, please list them in the medical form attached to registration in the appropriate section.

Camp will take place at Awanita Valley in Marietta, SC which is a little over 2 hours from Kannapolis, NC. Drop off and pick up will be at The Refuge Church, where we will take charter buses to and from Camp. Campers will ride together with their tribe and leaders.

Our goal is that your child has the absolute BEST time encountering God and building community with friends. Because of this, we’re asking that your child does not bring his or her cell phone, tablet, or any other device to camp. Refuge Kids Staff and leadership will have their phones should the need arise.

Camp with friends is the best! We’ve asked that in your registration you put the name of a friend your child would want to be with in their room and are doing our best to ensure this happens!

We have a non-refundable deposit of $100, if something happens and your child is unable to go, everything above the deposit will be refunded.
